No Wins for Home Nations

It was a disappointing night for British football teams yesterday, as none of the Home Nations managed to win their respective Euro 2012 qualifying matches.

Fabio Capello remains upbeat despite watching his England side get held to a 0-0 draw by Montenegro at Wembley.

Scotland manager Craig Levein says he ‘could not be more proud’ of his players after their 3-2 defeat to world and European champions Spain. Scotland came back from 2-0 down to draw level, but could not hold on for a point.

Wales’ qualifying campaign suffered a major setback as they were thrashed 4-1 by Switzerland, while both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland drew their games 1-1 against the Faroe Islands and Slovakia respectively.
