Two pubs in Lincoln are going the extra mile for their canine customers, by creating a dedicated dog menu.

The Plough in Bracebridge, Lincoln and The Lion and Snake in the Bailgate, Lincoln, have introduced a range of dog-friendly dishes so owners can treat their dogs while enjoying a meal themselves.

The manager of The Plough, Dave Gibbins, 51, said: “We’ve got a lot of customers that come in here with dogs, but yesterday alone we probably had 30 different customers and dogs.”

Dave Gibbins, 51, General Manager of The Plough in Bracebridge.

We started off giving out free biscuits on the bar, and I thought I’ll go one step further and do a proper menu for them.”

For The Plough the menu hopes to bring more people and their dogs into the pub.

One customer Laurel, commented on The Plough’s Facebook page and said: “Could we love this anymore? Nope!”

Ted the Sausage would go for the prime pup steak bowl, what a great idea.”

Another pub in Lincoln, the Lion and Snake, saw the success of dog menus in other pubs across the country and decided to implement their own.

Rebekah Rankin, 42, Lion and Snake General Manager said: “The customers love it, they think it’s a real novelty.”

Sometimes every table in our restaurant will have a dog underneath it, so it definitely helps bring people in as well.”

The menus include various meals for dogs such as a grilled chicken breast with peas and gravy, a mixed grill and beef burgers.

Dogs dining with their owners is becoming more popular by the day and these Lincolnshire pubs are adapting to new modern customers, even if they have four legs.
