Comet ISON fails to survive

Comet ISON has failed to survive its journey through our solar system.

Astronomers tracking the comet think it flew too close to the Sun and has been destroyed.

Scientists believe that ISON has been torn apart by the Sun’s intense heat.

There has been no further trace of the comet.

Had ISON survived it would have been visible for much of December.
