Joseph Banks Exhibition

The Museum of Lincolnshire Life is commemorating one of the county’s most famous sons.

An exhibition at the museum has been created to mark two hundred and fifty years since Joseph Banks was enrolled in the Royal Society. The exhibition will be held between the 25th of January to the 18th of March.

Visitors to the event will be able to see the highlights of his life.

Banks is known for his promotion of science and being part of the colonisation of Australia and New Zealand.

Katie Donald the Director of Joseph Banks limited said: ” Sir Joseph Banks was such a multi talented gentlemen. He covered so many different areas and had such a big reach across the world.

The world would never of known about Captain Cook if Sir Joseph Banks hadn’t financed the mission.”
