Lincoln Cornhill market opened in May of this year following a seven million pound renovation.

The market was initially met by backlash after some business owners closed their stalls over complaints that costs were too high, paying £400 per month sub charges. However, owner of Oatz & Co Lauren Riddall who set up her business four years ago, said that the price was fair.

“I think it is very reasonably priced for a city centre location,” and added “it takes time to build a business, I have a good customer base here”.

The market has a total of 34 stalls made up of predominantly small independent businesses and does include all utilities.

Plans are in place to drive footfall to the market over the christmas period with a mini lights switch on and indoor light shows.
