A senior Lindum Hockey Club player is aiming to make the England Over 35’s team for the third season in a row – and to play in this year’s indoor world cup.
Ross Booth, 36, has played the sport for much of his life and was selected for the veteran international team for the first time in the 2023/24 season.
Last year, he helped the national team complete a home nations tournament win, as well as finishing runners up in the 2025 Masters Euros held in Valencia in Spain. The side lost the final to Germany on penalties.
Now, Ross is determined to make the team for a hatrick season. Doing so would mean a chance to play in this spring’s seniors world cup being held here in the UK, in Nottingham.
He said: “If I can go to the world cup and get a medal – preferably a gold medal – then that’s going to make me feel really good.”
