Andrew Scott, 50, an award-winning photographer who was born and bred in Lincoln, prides himself on “capturing life, light, and meaningful moments through the lens”.
He says his home city is perhaps his biggest inspiration, “from the towering presence of Lincoln Cathedral to the cobbled streets of the Bailgate, the quiet corners of the West Common, and the ever-changing skies that sweep across the Lincolnshire landscape”.
Q: What is your favourite thing about Lincoln?
A: There’s a blend of everything. It has a variety of things to do for a variety of people. I’m a big champion of the place.
Q: What’s your favourite place to go in Lincoln? And why?
A: I’m Lincoln born and bred, so of course it’s the Bailgate. I’m always drawn to the historic bits with my camera, especially at Christmas time when it’s looking festive.
Q: What would be your perfect weekend in Lincoln?
A: I think a casual stroll around the city, up and round through the Cathedral. Knowing me, I’d probably end up in a nice coffee shop and then go off for something to eat.
Q: If you could change one thing about Lincoln, what would it be?
A: Bring the Christmas market back! It was great for so many small businesses, like myself, so it’s a real shame that it’s gone. They should look to start something similar but on a smaller scale [given officials felt it had grown too big]. That would be perfect.
