Rummage at the Royal this weekend

If you’re looking to grab a bargain on some antiques this weekend, you’re in luck.

Lincoln’s Theatre Royal is selling old props, furniture and costumes that it no longer uses.

From top hats to dresses, chairs to wigs, and jackets to telephones – there’s a wide variety of items on sale.

The theatre is open from 10am to 5pm over the weekend for the public to come in and see what’s on offer.

Artistic Director Ian Dickens said, “We’ve got everything, from very old furniture, vintage clothing, to modern furniture and clothing, and props.”

“They’ve all been on stage, most of them have been used by star actors at some point.”

For collectors and bargain hunters alike, this is a unique opportunity for people to get their hands on some unusual items.

Danny is an antiques dealer and said: “In this day and age, so many people are in the business, you’ll struggle to find places that offer furniture with a bit of character and a place like this is obviously full of it.”
