On March 16, a memorial was created for Sarah Everard on the University Library Bridge after the 33-year-old was found dead in Kent.
The memorial included a picture of Sarah and others who have been victims of violence against women, surrounded by statistics and slogans.
The university hasn’t revealed plans for where the memorial will be but said: “We are 100% committed to putting up a lasting tribute to all victims.
“It Is our moral duty to victims and survivors.”
We spoke to a Lincoln resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, who is a victim of sexual assault to find out what a lasting memorial means to them.
Her experience of sexual assault was after leaving a nightclub in Lincoln when a man confronted her and “dragged her” to his house where he assaulted her.
She said: “the memorial makes me emotional because it’s like people are actually taking notice of the awful things happening.
“It makes people realise how close to home this is, we need to keep reminding people of that.”
