The Select Lincolnshire Food and Drink Awards will be held tonight at the Riseholme College Showground Campus.

The ceremony, which follows a successful Select Awards in February, brings together food, drink and tourism businesses to celebrate the county’s finest.

In total, there are fifteen awards categories, including best pub, restaurant, producer and holiday accommodation of the Year.

Henry’s Tea Room, located above Ruddock’s on Lincoln’s High Street, was one of the businesses to be shortlisted for Tea Room of the Year.

The manager, Tracy Laws, said: “It’s a massive achievement and we are so proud of what we do.

“We really do care about what we serve to customers, and value their opinions massively, so we are led very much by our customers and what they like.

“To get this means the judges got the feel that we love the place and that we put our hearts and souls into it.”

She also says she hopes this nomination will positively impact the business.

“I would like the people that don’t know we are here to recognise us, as we still get people coming in every day who didn’t even know we were here.

“I also think this nomination acts as a thank you to our customers to say that their loyalty has brought us this, and they can be proud of what we’ve achieved as well.”

The awards ceremony will begin at 9pm tonight.
