Cycle and save!

The UK’s largest bike retailer, Halfords, promotes exercise through their Cycle2Work scheme.

Halfords Cycle2Work is the leading provider of the Government’s Cycle to Work initiative which enables people to save money on the price of a bike and accessories through tax and National Insurance contributions. 

Each employee taking part in the scheme can expect savings of up to 42%, as well as savings in commuting costs and car parking. The scheme encourages regular exercise and helps to beat congestion and minimise carbon footprint.

Employees who take part can spend between £100 and £1,000 on a bike and accessories which will be taken from their wages in instalments over a period of 12 or 18 months, also known as a salary sacrifice.

Employees can also enjoy additional discount vouchers such as 10% off cycle computers and storage, 25% off immobitag and immobimark security, £10 off cycle carriers, free bike route maps and discounted magazine subscription for various cycling magazines. Employees can also benefit from half price cycle training with the Institution of Advanced Motorists.

An employer has to sign up to the scheme for employees to take advantage of it. If interested, employers should visit their local Halfords store.
