The fastest-growing sport in the UK can now be played in Boston, as Padel People welcomed young and old to its newest venue.
George Sandbach, co-founder of Padel People, said: ”Our aim is to provide padel to towns like Boston as we believe people shouldn’t have to drive an hour to play.’
”Boston is amazing as there are lots of sports venues nearby. Our goal is to bring padel to places like this that don’t have access to it.”
Free sessions were offered throughout opening day with people queuing up to get involved from 10am.

The venue features a social area, pickleball court, two singles padel courts, and two doubles courts.
Padel courts have seen a remarkable increase in the last few years. From just 68 in 2019, the sport now boasts more than 1,000 courts across the UK.
One of the people most pleased about the new venue was Ash Titchmarsh, who was forced to give up playing football after breaking his leg.
He says he felt depressed after spending more than a year off work but now plays padel three times a week.
”It has been great for my mental health,” he said.

Padel People is keen to emphasise this positive impact the sport can have on people’s mental health.
”You can go play golf by yourself but talking to someone, having a laugh, getting that competitive spirit going is really important,” said George.
