Last night a meeting was held to discuss plans and develop ideas with local residents about the future of the dormant Grandstand in Lincoln’s West End. This came after Lincoln Racecourse Regeneration Company’s announcement that they would not be continuing with plans to bring horse racing back to the West Common after months of protests held by the ‘Hands off our Common Campaign’ group.

The idea’s proposed include; a wedding venue, a open-air theatre, a community cinema complex and a parish Council.

Emilie Van Der Zee, a campaigner of the ‘Hands Off Our Common Campaign’ spoke earlier to the School of Journalism at the University of Lincoln saying;

“The meeting went well and new plans have been proposed to make the premises a Parish Council building.”
