The Ice Rink in Lincoln has melted due to unseasonably mild weather this Winter.
Temperatures in Lincoln reached highs of 14 degrees Celsius this weekend, causing parts of the popular attraction to melt.
”We had a combination of high temperatures and winds which is the worst combination” explained Rob Bradley, who manages the Ice Rink.
The chillers were put on full blast however it was not enough to re-freeze the water. Lincoln BIG say the current freezers are too weak to cope with the exceedingly high winter temperatures, and new freezers will be installed as the Christmas period continues.
This is not the first time the rink has undergone the type of issue, in 2013 the Ice Rink was forced to shut because it had begun melting.
Customers have been reassured that anyone with pre-booked tickets for the cancelled sessions, will be able to skate in a different session time.
