Over half of the spaces for Lincoln’s 2025 soapbox race have already been filled after applications opened on Monday.
The Krazy Races event will take place on Sunday, June 22, after Lincoln Business Improvement Group (BIG) agreed to it returning for a second year.
Last year’s debut was the first ever soapbox race in the city, and saw over 100,000 visitors and 200 team members raise more than £150,000 for various charities.
Krazy Races spokesperson Danny Scoffin said: “We are absolutely buzzing to be returning to Lincoln after last year’s success. The enthusiasm and energy we felt from the community were electric, and we can’t wait to see what new and exciting soapboxes the people of Lincoln have in store for us.”
The company host soapbox races across the United Kingdom, raising money for an array of charities and good causes.

Richard Clarke, who was one of the local people who raced down Flaxengate last year, said: “Last year’s event was great to be a part of, it was very well run and it was brilliant to see so many spectators lining the track despite the poor weather and rain.”
Richard’s Flintstones-inspired Bedrock Bunch team raised over £725 for the Lincolnshire & Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance.
He had some advice for prospective competitors, warning: “You need to start as early as possible with the design and build of your soapbox, as the time will soon go.”
