The driver of a yellow transit van is being searched for by police investigating the death of a motorbike rider in Boston.

The vehicle is said to have been in the area before the fatal collision, according to a newly found witness.

The smash saw 62-year-old motorcyclist Brian Smith lose his life in the collision involving his motorcycle and a car in Horncastle Road on April 29, 2024.

Speaking to the BBC in 2024, his partner Tracey said: “Brian was one of the most selfless people who always looked out for others and always helped those he could. He had a heart of pure gold.”

Lincolnshire Police is now asking the driver of the witnessed yellow van, or anyone who may have seen it on the day, to get in touch.

A force spokesperson said: “We know this took place a long time ago, however we are determined to pursue every lead available to us to gather more information.”

David Smith, of Horbling Lane, the 74-year-old driver of the car involved, will appear in court for trial in July charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Anyone with information should email SCIUInvestigators@lincs.police.uk quoting the incident number of 243 of 29/04/24.
