A photo exhibition called Images for Vision is taking place today at the Gallery at St Martins.
Proceeds from the exhibition will be going to the charity 20/20/20, an organisation which funds sight restoring operations for children and adults in developing countries.
Although blindness is considered rare in developed countries, in the poorer countries it is 500 per cent more prevalent and can strike at any age. The charity 20/20/20, provides free training, equipment and financial aid to local doctors and nurses.
Peter Barton, is the photographer behind the exhibition, and his work which is being displayed today is a variety of street art, portraits and travel photos. “Some of the photos are over thirty years old, taken with old film camera’s and then also digital cameras, that’s all I use now” explained Peter.
The exhibition opened at the gallery this morning at 10am, and is due to finish later this evening, at 4pm.
