Imps Frozen Streak Continues

Lincoln City have had their sixth consecutive game postponed as the freezing conditions continue.

They were due to play Port Vale, at Vale Park, on boxing day but today’s pitch inspection at lunch time banished any hopes of a first game in a month for Tilson’s men.

The English record for the longest time spent without playing a game belongs to the Imps, when they went 45 days without playing in the 1940s. Their current streak will stand at the minimum of 32 days before their next game.

The Sincil Bank outfit will be hoping Tuesday’s game against Shrewsbury is able to go ahead to avoid a congested fixture list in the weeks to come.

A new date is yet to be announced for the latest postponment.
