Lincolnshire Bombers are back and better than before

The Lincolnshire Bombers American football team’s season is now in full flow.

The Bombers play their fourth match of the year this Sunday away to the Humber Warhawks, after a slow start to their season.

Many people in Lincoln don’t realise we have an American football team right here at home, the Bombers play their home fixtures at the Lincoln Christ’s Hospital School, although their next home fixture is not until July.

The Bombers have won once and lost twice this season, beating the Crewe Railroaders either side of losses to the Shropshire Revolution and Staffordshire Surge.

CJ McAllister, who plays for the Bombers, spoke before the season about what’s drawing more people into American football this year.

Who doesn’t like watching people go out there and beat the hell out of each other every Sunday?

McAllister told us the Bombers have struggled to even field a full team in recent years, but they have a full squad this year and are aiming for the championship.

The Bombers were beaten 34-18 away at the Staffordshire Surge last weekend, but will be looking to atone for that at Humber this Sunday.
