Robinson praises dominant Market Rasen display

Market Rasen & Louth RUFC First XV overcame a Spalding side, in a dominant performance that saw a 62-0 victory.

The win sees the red and greens currently sitting at seventh in the Midlands 1 East division.

Centre Dan Robinson opened the scoring through a penalty after five minutes of play.

Strong forward play and a stellar kicking display from Robinson saw Rasen head into half time with a lead of 43-0.

Ill discipline from Spalding minutes into the second half saw a second yellow card presented for dissent.

It appeared that discipline was a problem for both sides, with Rasen flanker Chris Starling sin binned in the 59th minute.

The home side conceded 10 penalties in the second half.

The game was rounded off by a try from Dave Starling, which converted by Robinson made the score 62-0.

Robinson said: “It was simple rugby executed well, particularly in the first half with clinical finishing.”
