Lincoln City manager Michael Appleton has extended his contract at the club until 2025.
In an exciting evening for Imps fans, the club also announced wingers Anthony Scully and Remy Howarth have penned new deals until June 2023 and June 2022, respectively.
Michael Appleton joined Lincoln in September 2019 and has led the team to 2nd in League One so far this season.
After reports linked Appleton with Bristol City several weeks ago, the Imps manager was quick to state his focus was with Lincoln City.
Appleton’s extension is a four-year deal and has pleased the Imps’ chairman Clive Nates.
“I am delighted that Michael has signed a new contract through to 2025″, Nates said.
“The successful transformation of the squad and a promotion push in his first full season is remarkable, even more so considering the curtailment of last season and a significantly lower pro budget.”
Meanwhile 21-year-old Irish midfielder Anthony Scully’s deal extends his stay at LNER Stadium until June 2023.
The former West Ham player has scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for the Imps in all competitions this season and said: “Being a Lincoln player has been the happiest I’ve felt in football and I look forward to the next few
years together and what we can achieve.
“Also, I want to say a massive thank you to all of the fans for the support they have shown since I’ve joined, I can’t wait to have them all back in the stadium and enjoy the journey together.”
Remy Howarth also extended his contract, penning a deal which keeps him at Lincoln City until June 2022.
The 23-year-old midfielder joined the Imps on trial during pre-season and was eventually awarded with a season-long contract.
Howarth said: “I couldn’t be happier and prouder to be a part of this football club, I have enjoyed my time so far working under the Gaffer.”
Appleton praised Howarth as the midfielder signed a new contract and said: “Remy is a young player who has worked very hard this season. We are delighted to see him commit himself to the club beyond this season.”
The Imps travel to Plymouth Argyle at the weekend, as Appleton’s side look to continue a promotion push.
