A painting of the notorious Kray twins, painted in the 70’s by a convicted murderer is to be auctioned in Lincoln tomorrow.
Graham Young created the artwork whilst he attended art lessons with Reggie and Ronnie Kray at Parkhurst Prison on the Isle of White.
He himself poisoned over 70 people, killing three, when he was in his teens.
This particular painting shows the twins with serious facial expressions on a red background. It is dated 21 September 1973 and has the HM Parkhurst Prison stamp on the back.
The artist originally traded it to a fellow inmate for tobacco before it was passed on to its current owner.
There are other paintings going to auction painted by Young as well as works of art by the twins themselves.
Many people are said to be fascinated by the twins and the paintings are expected to sell for between £200 and £300. A painting by Ronnie Kray fetched £1,500 at auction in 2008.
The auction begins tomorrow at Thomas Mawer and Son on Portland Street.
