Match Report: Mansfield Town 2 – 1 Lincoln City

New signing Mark McCammon scored a late consolation goal, as Lincoln City slipped to their first defeat in four league games.

McCammon’s goal came deep into injury time as he deflected Tyone Thompson’s effort past Mansfield keeper Alan Marriot.

Two goals from Dyer and Roberts at the beginning of the second half put playoff chasing Mansfield in front.

After standing firm in a one sided start, Lincoln grew into the game and could have been ahead at half time but Jefferson Louis struck straight at Marriot and then fired a free header into the crowd.

The strong defence from the first half went missing after the restart though as Ross Dyer was allowed to finish a low cross.

Pacquette could have equalised shortly afterwards but blew his chance and Lincoln found themselves two down when Gary Roberts’ long range strike found the bottom corner.

McCammon was introduced with a little over ten minutes to go and nearly made the perfect impact with an overhead kick that flew over.

Three minutes into injury time, the Imps finally finished a chance as Tyrone Thompson’s shot was turned in by McCammon but the Imps were unable to find the equaliser.

The defeat leaves Lincoln without a win in their last five matches and five points away from the relegation zone.
