Ewan Chesman, President of Bishop Grosseteste University Football Club, says this year’s Cathedral Cup will be a close contest but his side will come out on top. The 2018 Cathedral Cup will be played at Lincoln City’s home ground, Sincil Bank, on Thursday 25th October.

BGU will be looking for revenge after last year’s heavy 5-1 defeat to the University of Lincoln.
Despite the loss in the third instalment of the Cathedral Cup Chesman said that the mood in the camp is positive:
“We’re buzzing, we’ve got some freshers that are really excited and for them it’s important they learn what the Cathedral Cup is all about.”
Chesman said it’s a dream come true for a lot of his players to play at Sincil Bank and that all the pressure this year is on the University of Lincoln:
“They have a lot more players than us but it’s going to be a tight game. We’re going to win 2-1!”
