A local campaign group has welcomed the new direct LNER services from the Lincoln to London saying it will help them in their fight to improve Lincolnshire’s rail connectivity.
LNER will begin services on Monday (October 21st) with four additional rail connections to the capital. The company has rostered its new Azuma trains on half of the scheduled services.
David Harby, Chairman of Railfuture Lincolnshire welcomed the new rail services: “We’re very pleased, we’ve been campaigning for them for a long while and it’s great that they’re actually happening.”
Mr Harby added: “The good thing about [them] is it’s going to bring a lot more services into Lincoln, what we were missing particularly was services from the London area.”
Railfuture Lincolnshire campaigns for better rail service provision in the county. It’s main goals are to increase frequencies on key routes such as Lincoln-Nottingham and Peterborough. The group hopes these extra services will help make that possible.
