City of Lincoln Council records show that there has been over 700 recorded unsavoury incidents that have occurred in Lincoln multi-story car parks over the past year.
Records of drug taking, sexual intercourse and vandalism are just some of the offences that can be found within Council reports.
These findings come in light of Lincoln Council announcing that they were looking into introducing a Public Space Protection Order in October 2019, which the Council hope will combat anti-social behaviour within car parks.
Simon Colburn, assistant director for health and environment for the Council told reporters, “Introducing a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) in these car parks would assist Lincolnshire Police and the city council in dealing with individuals whose behaviour is having a detrimental effect on other people’s quality of life.”
As of today, a PSPO is yet to be implemented.
