“Disgusting” lifts in Lincoln’s High Street footbridge

Lift on the High Street footbridge.

The £12 million bridge with a history of problems is severely in need of proper maintenance once again pedestrians in Lincoln say.

The bridge, which opened in 2016, has gone through a number major repairs since it opened. Network Rail have time and again faced scrutiny from the public for this particular project.

Due to several incidents and engineering issues in the past, many people have been critical of the bridge since its conception.

Now, the pedestrians believe that the bridge is in need of serious maintenance again.

A student from the University of Lincoln said that the lifts were “disgusting and foul smelling”.

The lifts are extremely dirty and unhygienic, causing the pedestrians to avoid using them at all.

The stairs are in no better condition as well according to the pedestrians.

As people avoid using the facilities of the footbridge, a crowd gathers around the barriers as multiple trains pass.
