Valentine’s Day can often prove to be stressful time, but fear not!

Today offers an alternative for those wishing to celebrate the other special relationships in their lives.

It’s Galentine’s Day!

Today marks 10 years since Galentine’s was first popularised by the fictional character, Leslie Knope. The ‘Parks and Recreation’ fans amongst you may remember Amy Poehler’s character explaining the term in the popular TV show’s second series back in 2010.

Grab your favourite group of girls and celebrate your friendships

Whether you are single, taken, “it’s complicated” or in a committed relationship with your favourite foods, Galentine’s is a perfect way to show your gal pals some love.

Traditionally, this non-official holiday is all about celebrating the female friendships and inspirational women in your life.

It’s a day of ladies celebrating ladies, sharing the #Wifey love and making the most of the girls in your life.

But this doesn’t mean that the lads can’t get involved and celebrate their own bromances.

Guys, don’t let the ‘Gal’ in ‘Galentines’ stop you from showing your mates how much you love them!

Grab your best gym buddy, gaming comrade, fishing friend or just your best bro, and remind them of what they mean to you.

Show your best friend how much you love them

There’s no specific way to celebrate Galentine’s. You could send a card or a gift, or you could spend a night watching your favourite movie with your favourite friends eating your favourite takeaway.

Not a fan of that idea? Get dolled up and celebrate with a fancy glass of wine or prosecco at your favourite bars.

Whoever you decide to celebrate with, wherever you decide to go, whatever you decide to do, share the love and let your friends know they are appreciated.

And for all the singletons out there, Saturday 15 February 2020 is Singles Awareness Day! So don’t worry, you won’t be missing out! Whether you are the singleton or you have single friends, don’t forget to share the love!
