Lincolnshire cricket clubs have embraced a new national scheme to get primary school children the opportunity to experience the sport.

Lincolnshire cricket have confirmed the introduction of a new ECB junior programme. There are nearly 40 clubs in Lincolnshire running either All Stars Cricket (5–8-year-olds), or Dynamos Cricket (8-11yr-olds). All Stars and Dynamos provide eight weeks of fun, activity and skills development for children during spring and summer.

Greg Brown, children and young people lead at Active Lincolnshire, said: “The All-Stars programme made the most sense to dip our toes into the water of junior cricket as we know from conversations with other clubs how supportive the ECB are in promoting and supporting local clubs.”

All Stars Cricket provides a fantastic first experience for all children aged 5-8 years old. The programme is designed to introduce children to the sport, teaching them new skills, helping them make new friends and have a great time doing so.

Dynamos Cricket provides a fantastic next step for all those graduating from All Stars Cricket and the perfect introduction for all 8–11-year-olds new to the sport!

“It’s for everyone. If you’re hearing about the sport for the first time, or if you’ve been playing for the past three or four years” said Rommel Shahzad, one of the coaches at the All Stars cricket programme.

Registrations are now open for All Stars Cricket and Dynamos Cricket. Everyone is invited, but places fill up quickly, so don’t miss out!
