A report commissioned by London First has found that international students are contributing £2.3 billion to the economy. The study has shown that these students are helping to support over 70,000 jobs because of the money they spend.
Despite this, a vast majority of them have said that they find it hard to secure work after graduating because of the complex immigration system.
The report, which has stated that foreign students feel “unwelcome”, has suggested that migration targets should be reclassified and students should be granted visitor status to allow them to secure work after finishing their course.
The International Officer from the University of Lincoln, Carol MacFarlane, is looking forward to encouraging more foreign students into Lincolnshire by spreading the University’s good reputation.
