After returning to the club he left ten years ago Jamie McCombe believes he has unfinished business at Lincoln City.

The defender was an integral part of Keith Alexander’s side which reached the play-offs three times during McCombe’s two and a half year spell at the club.

In 2004 the Imps were beaten in the Division Three play-off semi-finals by Huddersfield Town. A season later after the leagues had been rebranded Lincoln City reached the League Two play-off final, only to lose 2-0 to Southend United after extra-time before being beaten by local rivals Grimsby Town 3-1 on aggregate in the League Two play-off semi-finals a season later.

Since the 6ft 5′ defender joined the Imps at the end of last month they have put a four game unbeaten run together, winning three and currently sit ninth in the Vanarama National League, three points off the play-offs.

The 33 year-old defender signed a 18-month contract with Lincoln City which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2016/17 season.
