Lincoln City’s search for a new manager continues today. Pressure is being placed on the board to find a sucessor for Chris Sutton, who left the club last week, in time for their next game against Shrewsbury on 16th October.

Names currently linked with the vacancy include; former Southend boss Steve Tilson, ex-Darlington and Doncaster boss Dave Penney and former Imps manager Steve Thompson, who first took charge of the club 20 years ago.

However earlier today Drewe Broughton, a Lincoln City stricker, backed Steve Tilson to replace Chris Sutton saying;

Steve’s certainly the best manager I have ever played under, I’ve had a long career and worked under many managers but he always stood out.

When he first arrived at Roots Hall, it was actually a very similar position to where we (Lincoln) are now in the table.

“Morale was low, chins were on the floor, nobody looked forward to going into training, but he came in and he changed that.
