A student at the University of Lincoln has raised nearly a thousand pounds for charity with the help of his colleagues.
Lee McCall, who studies Sports Business and Management at the university helped organise a black tie event at the Engine Shed’s Tower Bar in aid of Help For Heroes and the British Heart Foundation.
“We decided to do it for Help For Heroes because around Lincoln there are big RAF bases and we wanted to get Lincoln’s people involved, not just people from the University,” said Lee.
“We started organising it in November last year. Obviously, there were many aspects to the event. We had to sort out the champagne reception, canapes, getting the casino people in. I think it came together quite nicely.”
Lee garnered support and donations from many of Lincoln’s local businesses, including the restaurants Ask, Slug & Lettuce and Nando’s and many of Lincoln’s High Street shops, including Equus.
Lee also gained the support of Glasgow Rangers Football Club, who donated a signed shirt to the cause after his father, Stuart, used his influence as an ex-player.
