Young children up and down the country, and in Lincoln are taking part in Safer Internet Day 2016 to learn about the dangers of the internet and social media.
Coordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.
Many social media platforms require their users to be at least 13 years old, but the problem of underage children on social media is rising, with over three quarters of 10-12 year olds owning a social media account.
The day aims to promote the safe and legal use of these social media sites, such as Facebook, Snapchat and WhatsApp.
