Have you ever been told you look like someone famous? Well for Daniel Hadfield he gets asked almost every day…
Daniel is the Schools & Colleges Liaison Manager at the University of Lincoln. However, he also works part time as a Gary Barlow look-a-like.
Daniel told LSJ News that “It was odd growing up as a look alike. Gary was the fat, white one in Take That and I didn’t welcome it at first. But then they [the band] died down and the comments died down as well.”
However, when the band resurfaced in 2006 the comments started to come back. It wasn’t soon before people would stop Daniel in the street and ask him if he was Gary Barlow.
“It’s got to the point where I say; no I’m not him or yes people have told me I look like him. But then I feel bad about saying that because it’s the first time they’ve said anything but I get asked quite a bit.”
As he became better known as a Gary Barlow look-alike he joined Fakeface’s, a website for celebrity look-alikes, and also appeared on The Extra Factor with Gary Barlow himself. “It was surreal, just surreal to be there.”
Most recently Daniel was called up by Manchester based Take That cover band ‘Totally Take That’ to sing as Gary Barlow in their shows.
