The Friends of Lincoln Castle are on the lookout for new volunteers to strengthen their team of tour guides.

The FOLC are looking for fifteen new guides to give free tours to members of the public and each applicant would have to make the commitment of at least six tours every year.

Potential candidates are encouraged to attend the free training sessions in January that will teach them vital skills such as public speaking and furthering their historical knowledge of the Castle. Finally, they will have to undergo both a theory and practical exam.

Michael Wilson has been giving tours of the castle for ten years now, despite having no previous knowledge of Lincoln’s history. He says that other people can do likewise.
