A new bubble football company is to launch in Lincoln on November 19, bringing the sport of airball to the city for the first time ever.

Airball, otherwise known as bubble football or zorb football, has taken America by storm and with footage of the sport going viral online, is growing in popularity across Europe.

Players hit the deck- Online sensation Airball is set to take Lincoln by storm.

The objective of the sport, which originated from Norway, is to score goals past your opponent and knock each other down as you play.

Business partners Luke Heald and Paul Otley are investing £10,000 into bringing airball to Lincoln. The pair have agreed 10 locations in Lincoln so far – including both the University of Lincoln and Bishop Grosseteste University sports centres, and the business partners are excited to bring the craze to Lincoln.

“It’s halfway between a trendy sport or a craze, with a little bit of impact sport thrown in,” said Paul

“We like to say that it’s more fun than football, which from the reactions of people it does seem that it is, and safer than rugby and it’s obviously a lot of fun to knock your friends around at the same time whilst scoring goals.”

At £15 per person for an hour, airball could be the next go to activity for stag and hen parties,  birthdays or a team building activity for work colleagues.

To book a session, visit lincolnairball.com, Airball Lincoln on Facebook or call 07938 790066.

Samuel Gilbert of LSJ Today went along to watch Lincoln’s first taste of airball.
