Raising awareness for breast cancer

A fundraiser from Newark is aiming to hold the UKs largest self breast examination and enter the Guinness Book of Records.

Hayley Gillingham is aiming to sell 1000 tickets for the girls only event, which will be informative yet entertaining, with live entertainment as well as medical guidance on checking for lumps.

She will be raising money for Breast Cancer Challenge, a national charity which funds research into the disease.

Another charity that Hayley is supporting is Beaumond House Community Hospice, a care hospice in Newark that offers palliative and respite care.

The breast cancer awareness event is taking place at Newark Showground this evening, and starts at 7pm, and tickets are available for £5 on the door.

Hayley spoke to Siren FM earlier this week and exaplined what the evening would entail.
