Somma to return to Elland Road

Leeds United have taken up the option of extending Davide Somma’s contract into a second season.

Somma’s nine goals in 14 appearances is the main reason Lincoln City will be playing League Two football next season, a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed by Leeds boss Simon Grayson.

Imps manager Chris Sutton signed the South African on loan from Leeds in February, since then Somma has been one of League Two’s in form players.

His goals have made him a firm fan favourite at Sincil Bank confirmed by the fact he managed to secure third place In the Imps player of the season award.

Somma’s short spell with Lincoln will live long in the memories of the fans. Listen to the moment he scored against Bury, a goal that all but sealed Lincoln’s League Two status.
