The reconstruction of the White Bridge in Hartsholme Country Park is finally underway after two long years of arduous deliberating.
Construction started on December 25th, 2013 and is set to go on for the next month with the aim of finally being completed.
This new bridge will be the third one since its original construction in 1902, all that remains of this original construction are the old pylons it will stand on.
Designs for the bridge have been gone over thoroughly by the Garden History society in order to make sure it lives up to the British Heritage asset designation that this park has received.
The park has been registered as a grade two historic park and garden has been registered with British Heritage for many years in order to protect and share its natural beauty with the public.
Hartsholme Country Park has been home to many dog and nature walkers for many years, one such dog walker being Councillor Ronald Hills.
Ronald Hills is one of the three Councillors for Hartsholme and gladly welcomes the return of this once historical monument.
