Enjoy the fun food on offer

The three best places to eat at in Queenstown are Fergburger, Cookie Time and Bombay Palace. Fergburger is well-known to travellers as the burger place you must try; they often have queues out the door due to their incredible burgers. For dessert, try any kind of cookie dough or have your choice of dough made into a cookie at Cookie Time. The final place is Bombay Palace, which is a great find and highly recommended due to their amazing menu, specifically the cheese naan.

Go on a bar crawl

There is an easy process to sign up for bar crawls. Head to the reception of any hostel and pay a small price up front, usually 20 NZ dollars. You receive a wristband to get into all the bars and a voucher book which gets you money off the whole night. The wristband also allows you access to the ice bar, access to warm clothing due to the cold temperature, and a free shot in an ice glass. A bar crawl is a great way to explore Queenstown at night, meet new people and make friends.

Swing over Queenstown

Up the ski lift, there are an abundance of opportunities for thrill seeking with AJ Hackett, including the swing which drops you down the cliff side and a bungee jump, where you throw yourself off the cliff and fall 47m down. Book online in advance to avoid disappointment, or go into their shop in central Queenstown. There are offers and deals, including a package of the swing and bungee for $270 (approx. £131) with a saving of $100! As well as this, you can view and purchase the photos and videos taken of you to share with your family and friends. It is an experience like no other!

Exploring the wildlife and beauty

There is beauty all around Queenstown, the centre of it all being Lake Wakatipa which you can walk around, enjoy by boat or tackle in a speed boat. Therefore, this town is suitable for all ages as it can be explored in many different ways.  It is surrounded by wildlife, bridges and the Queenstown gardens. The lake home to many animals, and is suitable for bird-watching and fishing.

Queenstown Hill

There are many trials up this hill, but all lead to the incredible view from the top at Maori point. Even if you do not go all the way to the top, there are stops throughout where you can see the lake and the mountains. The air gets very thin as you go higher and it is continuously uphill, which means the key to tackling it is stopping now and then to catch your breath and keeping hydrated. One of the paths offers a walk by a very spiritual place. The rock piles signify this and is not to be disturbed. Spot the small door leaning against a tree, looking like the home of a small animal. Such sweetness, as well as literal breathtaking beauty.
