We cannot underestimate Grimsby : Danny Cowley

Sincil Bank- the venue for Saturday’s game.

Sincil Bank will be brimming to its capacity this Saturday with Lincoln City taking on local rivals Grimsby Town. The Imps seem to have recaptured their winning mentality with back to back away wins following the embarrassing 4-1 defeat at home to Crewe Alexandra; and will be confident of getting a positive result come Saturday.

The Mariners however are having a season to forget, languishing in 21st position with the prospect of relegation looming large but the appointment of Micheal Jolley as manager seems to be a step in the right direction for Grimsby.

However, Lincoln city manager Danny Cowley says that his side cannot underestimate this derby game despite Grimsby’s woeful run in the league.

”Derby’s are never easy games. Does not matter what the two teams are doing in the league; very rarely do you get a one-sided derby. They are always ultra competitive.” says Cowley.

The Imps manager also praised the passion and commitment shown by the clubs’ fans and is hopeful to reward them with a victory against bitter rivals Grimsby.
