Children all across Lincolnshire dress up

World Book Day Celebrations!

Schools in Lincolnshire are celebrating the annual World Book Day today. 

Though not every school is dressing up for the occasion, with some focusing more on book reading and engagement rather than costumes.  

Ted and Jack from Ayscoughfee Hall School in Spalding however are definitely celebrating. Here they are this morning just before their school day.  

Ted and Jack dress up as their favourite characters!

 

World Book Day is a registered charity on a mission to give every child and young person a book of their own. It’s also a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading.  

The day has been a yearly event for the past 25 years and is celebrated worldwide. Here is a video of some of the children taking part:
