Finding hidden gems in the transfer market is most certainly an ethos that applies in the Premier League, Especially for clubs who don’t possess the same financial prowess as their rivals.

The Championship has always been a springboard for the stars of the future, so here we look at 5 players who are ready to make the upgrade to the top-tier when the 2020/21 season kicks off.

Jude Bellingham (midfielder) – Birmingham City

The 16 – year old midfielder was one of the brightest sparks in a rather dull campaign for Birmingham City. He has established himself as a key member in the midfield and has notched up 4 goals and 2 assists this season.

His performances have attracted many admirers including Manchester United – who have recently given him a tour of the Carrington training facility. Borussia Dortmund are also said to be keeping tabs on the young man as he continues his rapid rise up the ranks.

Matty Cash (midfielder/defender) – Nottingham Forest

The 22 – year old midfielder has been used as a full-back this season, and has thrived in his new role. He has been one of the best full backs in the Championship this year and Forest will most certainly consider cashing in on their prized possession.

Cash was a subject of interest from West Ham United and Italian giants AC Milan in the january transfer window. With many teams in the Premier League looking to get reinforcement in the full-back department, the versatile Matty Cash will be a man in demand this summer.

Eberechi Eze (forward) – Queens Park Rangers

The 21-year old forward has been in fine form for QPR this season, scoring 12 and assisting 8. He has established himself as a first team player and is a vital cog in the QPR attack.

His improvement and rise in form over the past two seasons has been tremendous. It has resulted in him being linked with a host of Premier League clubs like Tottenham, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him play in the Premier League next year.

Lewis Travis (midfielder) – Blackburn Rovers

The all-action midfielder has undoubtedly grown under manager Tony Mowbray and has been one of the best midfielders in the Championship.

The 21-year old has been a mainstay in the Blackburn midfield alongside former Liverpool man Stewart Downing and has notched up 2 goals and 2 assists this season.

Although there would be a massive outcry among the fans if Travis was to be sold, he most certainly has the ability to play in the Premier League and will have plenty of suitors vying for his signature.

Said Benrahma (forward) – Brentford

Benrahma has been outstanding this season, scoring 10 goals. He has been tearing up defences for fun and looks destined to make it to the top flight.

Clubs around the country identify the Algerian as a special talent, with his goal-scoring ability and dazzling set of skills. It isn’t surprising that a host of Premier League clubs are keeping close tabs on the winger.

Although Brentford have insisted they wouldn’t sell their star man, it would be very hard for them to resist a big-money offer.
