All seven districts in Lincolnshire have committed to supporting forces and ex-forces personnel who wish to find a home in this county.

The Lincolnshire Armed Forces Community Covenant is a partnership organised by the Lincolnshire county council. This includes representatives from the Army, Navy and Air Force as well all seven district councils and other military based support groups.

The council’s new housing allocation policies will allow support to be offered to forces or ex forces personnel who have been residents in the county within the last five years or if they are a bereaved spouse of someone who served in the local area.

Cllr Sue Woolley, executive member for community engagement, who supports the new policy, said “Many members of the armed forces build up strong links with Lincolnshire when they are based here, and it’s a very positive move by all seven district councils to make a commitment to help those people who wish to make their home here.”
