Lincoln City Manager, David Holdsworth, has spoken of his disappointment at the current state of racism in football.
A number of high profile incidents have hit the headlines recently regarding racial issues in the sport.
The Imps Boss is the latest in a long line of managers to offer an opinion on the subject.
Speaking at the club’s weekly press conference, Holdsworth exclusivley told LSJ News:
“There’s no place for racism in football, it’s a disgrace some of the things you hear and see.”
Holdsworth was also critcal of the Head of World Football, Sepp Blatter.
FIFA President, Blatter, recently caused widespread controversy by denying that racism in football existed and that even if it did, disputes should be resolved by shaking hands at the final whistle.
Ex Mansfield Town manger, Holdsworth, was not impressed by Blatter’s comments:
“He’s talking rubbish,” he said. “With the greatest respect to the gentleman, his comments should be taken into context because there is no place for racism.”
