A number of residents in the Croft Street area of Lincoln are disgruntled at the “never ending” road/street repairs that have been carried out for the past few months.
They have had to put up with temporary traffic light systems in place on two separate occasions.
Some areas of footpaths are currently out of use, forcing people to cross the road in areas that are notoriously difficult to do so.
A section of Baggholme Road is also undergoing work and is completely shut off to the public in one direction.
The current works on Croft Street are being carried out by CityFibre Metro Networks LTD, who specialise in building a high-speed fibre broadband network across the country, which will provide faster Wi-Fi connections for local residents.
But not everyone sees the benefits of the works. Thomas Hare, 42, who lives in the affected area says: “The multiple recent works are an inconvenience to many of us, they seem to be never ending, with almost no breaks in the works since the new year.
“My daily route to work is affected by the temporary traffic lights on Croft Street and the road closure on Baggholme Road. After multiple months of this it is becoming tedious and frustrating for me and other people in the area.”
According to online updates the work on Croft Street is due to be completed on March 28 with the road closure on Baggholme Road expected to last until May 3.
