Lincoln City captain Scott Kerr today added his opinion to the debate over who should be the Imps next manager, with a glowing endorsement for the current caretaker manager Scott Lindsey.

He has said that the team dressing room has been a happier place since Lindsey’s appointment.  “Scott is a good coach and has all his coaching badges but people probably do not realise what he does, as he is not a big name” Kerr said, speaking on his column.

The press conference deciding who will get the job has been pushed back as it is believed that more negotiations are needed. The club has commented that they hope the press conference will be held tomorrow morning.

Former Southend manager Steve Tilson is the bookies favourite to take the reigns as Chris Sutton, and recieved a nod from Imps forward Drewe Broughton. “Steve’s certainly the best manager I have played under,” said Broughton, who played under the manager at Southend.

“When he first arrived at Roots Hall, it was actually a very similar position to where we (Lincoln) are now in the table.

“Morale was low, chins were on the floor, nobody looked forward to going into training, but he came in and he changed that culture.”

The team have confirmed however that no matter who gets the job, Scott Lindsey will lead the team against Shrewsbury this Saturday.
