Alcohol Awareness Week 2013

This week is Alcohol Awareness week 2013, the annual event runs from the 18-24 November.

The week is led by charity Alcohol Concern and this year, the theme is conversations about alcohol. It is hoped that people will use the opportunity to talk about alcohol related health issues and other concerns they may have.

Across England and Wales, local areas are being given the opportunity to focus on alcohol concerns that are most relevant to them. Across Lincolnshire there have been events taking place to encourage people to be more open and consider their alcohol consumption.

Pharmacies across the county are taking part, offering advice on what a unit is and how to reduce alcohol intake.

Anyone who would like help or advice should contact their GP or visit the DART website.

Emily Normington spoke to Joanne Hart, from the public health department of the Lincolnshire County Council, and Ella Bristow, John Donoghue and Stuart Wilson from Lincoln’s NHS Drug and Alcohol Recovery Team.
