Animal Abandonment Still a Problem

Over 3000 animals are abused and abandoned in Lincolnshire every year.

Statistics for animal abuse has seen a steady rise year by year nationwide for a decade now.

Shelter manager Alistair, who runs the kennels with his family believes poverty may be a major factor behind the rise.

Racing animals are still at a high risk for abandonment. Lucy, a greyhound at Alistair’s shelter, was abandoned after she broke her leg and could no longer race. She was lucky enough to be found by the police.
